Naturally Better Soil Products is new and different!
Our owners are family farmers with a commitment to sustainable agricultural practices. Our new facilities were constructed on-farm in 2023-2024 to produce natural organic fertilizers by recycling dairy and swine manure. The USDA recognized the project with a $2.3 million Fertilizer Production Expansion Program Grant, funding nearly half the project’s cost. Our first product, Naturally Better Soil Supplement, is a natural organic fertilizer that can be used for all your gardening needs.
ABOUT NATURALLY BETTER SOIL PRODUCTS
In June 2024, we completed construction at both Scenic View Dairy in Fennville, MI and Brook View Dairy in Freeport, MI, working with local companies to provide construction services and equipment. Unlike most facilities, we use our own on-farm feedstocks rather than trucking materials in. And, our facilities are fully covered to prevent rain and snow from disrupting the composting process in the winter. By enclosing our operations, we prevent surface runoff and retain the nutrient content of the final product. Our equipment is state of the art, resulting in high quality and consistency throughout the year.
Naturally Better’s composting facilities are the latest addition to the farms’ sustainable agriculture practices, which include responsible animal care, production of renewable energy and precision agriculture to reduce pesticide use and conserve water.
